Low carbon steel is A36. Less than 0.3% carbon by weight distinguishes low carbon steels from other types. This makes A36 steel a very valuable general-purpose steel because it makes it simple to process, weld, and mould. Furthermore, due to the low carbon content, heat treatment provides no or minimal effect on A36 steel.
Applications
A36 steel plate is a low-cost, high-performance carbon steel plate with excellent strength and durability. It is widely used in constructions and structural applications due to its thickness and corrosion resistance. A36 steel is used in various products such as warehouses, industrial and commercial structures, buildings, pipes, tubings, cabinets, enclosures, and housings. It can be made into various base construction materials and is available in various forms, including rectangle, square, circular, and angles. A36 steel is also known as mild steel in the South East Asian Region.
