High-Strength Shipbuilding Steel Plate Grades: AH32, DH32, and EH32; AH36, DH36, and EH36; and AH40, DH40, and EH40.
It’s essential to note that the impact values remain consistent across all grades of steel. However, for high-strength hull structure steel plates, certain preheating requirements must be met. When dealing with plate thicknesses exceeding 30mm or when working on angle and butt joints, preheating to temperatures ranging from 120-150°C is necessary before welding.
For plates with thicknesses less than or equal to 30mm and ambient temperatures below 5°C, preheating to 75°C is recommended. When working in conditions below 0°C, preheating within the range of 75-100°C ensures the integrity of the welds. These guidelines are essential to maintain the structural strength and durability of shipbuilding materials, ensuring the safety and reliability of maritime vessels in diverse operating conditions.
