A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object ; or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails).
Flanges are designed to the following pressure ratings: 150 lb, 300 lb, 400 lb, 600 lb, 900 lb,1500 lb and 2500 lb or 10 Bar, 15Bar, 25Bar, 40Bar, 64Bar, 100Bar and 150Bar. Various types of flanges are available depending upon the type of their constructional features.
Types are Slip On Blind, Weldneck, Socketweld, Threaded, Lap Joint, Orifice and Spectical Blinds, Spacers. Sizes available: 1/4″ through to any size. Wall thickness: Schedule 5s through to Schedule XXS and heavier. Special items according to customer drawings.
