Carbon Steel Pipes (Carbon Pipes)

Pipe, hollow structure, usually cylindrical, for conducting materials. it is used primarily to convey liquids, gases, solid suspended in a liquid, e.g., a slurry. it is also used as conduit for electric wires. Sometimes it is used a steel structure.

In carbon steel, the main alloying element is carbon. it has higher carbon content, which gives the steel a lower melting point, more malleability and durability, and better heat distribution.

Most commonly used specs are SA/ASTM A106 Gr.B/C;API 5L Gr.B SA/ASTM A53-B; SGP; ASTM A333Gr.6/3; APL 5L X42, 52,60,65,70; ASTM A139 (Spiral Pipe); ASTM 795.

There are also surface treatment for most of Carbon Steel Pipes. Most common are Black Paint and Hot-Dipped Galvanized, where some of pipe derived its name – Black Iron Pipe (B.I Pipes) and Galvanized Iron Pipes (G.I Pipes).

There are two(2) sub-categories for Carbon Steel Pipes. These are Carbon Steel Pipes and Carbon Steel Welded Pipes.

Carbon Steel SEAMLESS Pipes

Seamless (SMLS) pipe is formed by drawing a solid billet over a piercing rod to create the hollow shell. As the manufacturing process doest not include any welding, seamless pipes are perceived to be stronger and more reliable, Historically seamless pipe was regarded as withstanding pressure better than other types, and was often more easily available than welded pipe.

Carbon Steel WELDED Pipes

Welded Pipe is manufactured by rolling metal and then welding it longitudinally across it’s length, therefore welded pipes have a welded joint in it’s cross=section. it can be ERW,EFW,LSAW,SSAW

Below are lists of Carbon Steel Pipes:
